Sonic Plating Inc. prides itself as an exemplary environmentally friendly business. Our on site hazardous waste treatment system has enabled us to enjoy a compliance record that we believe to be second to none. Our waste treatment and recycling process helps to ensure a safe workplace for our employees as well as a safe environment for our community.
On average, we recycle about ninety tons of treated plating waste, thus preventing this waste from being disposed of in local landfills.
We routinely open our doors to City, County, State and Federal environmental audits. The environmental success of Sonic Plating Inc. is the result of professional management and a technically professional staff.
We are charter members in the “Strategic Goals Program” (SGP). This is a cooperative effort in the Surface Industry Council and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
We contract voluntarily on a regular basis with an outside environmental and process engineering firm, in an ongoing effort to ensure that our targeted performance goals are at or above government compliance standards.
We were one of the first electroplating companies in Southern California to recognize the environmental need for chemical changes. We revamped our plating processes and completely eliminated cyanide-based chemicals.
We are a leader in the industry to voluntarily comply with the internationally recognized RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) directive by eliminating the toxic heavy metal “cadmium” and replaced it with a toxic free “Tin-Zinc” alternative. We reduced the use of hexavalent chromium and offer a RoHS compliant Trivalent Chromium for customers that demand this industry change.
Sonic Plating Inc. is committed to a continued effort to preserve the integrity of the environment we all live in.
